Get real. Do you know how many people including me have gone down the same path. You are going to need a lot more resources than you and a year of pontificating to succesfully compete with ebay. Stop waffling on about it and do something. Talk's cheap. Lets see some action

Looks like it, can i ask where you found this info? Will other sites follow suit, and surely with regulation the sellers numbers will dive and so too will potential bidders.

I think your biggest hurdle is going to be the publicity. Ebay currently has a huge amount of money to spend on advertising, and it has both word of mouth and household name to its glory, easy to remember and its the first auction site that comes up when someone asks about online auctions.

You're going to need a hell of a lot of publicity, plus be able to safely sway others away from Ebay or at least get them using your site regularly as well.

Ebay is a rippoff, shill bidding is rife so too are scammers, i think hiding bidders is disgusting as i used to be able to tell who was buying their own stuff with different accounts, whats more the majority of shill bid detections were done and reported by Ebay users which they can now not do.

But...Until a decent competitor comes along with great publicity and loads of members, i and others stick with Ebay!

Blind Auctions News,

Our system will not allow users to have mutliple accounts, which our verification features will prevent any user from having no more than one account. If a user is still destined to defraud the system, they would have to commit many forms of fraud to acheive just a 'verified' account, which when caught, they would be looking at a very long prison sentence.

eBay's current Feedback 2.0 upgrade rates item description, communication, shipping time, and shipping & handling charges, which some of these may/may not really be needed when it comes to rating a seller in this instance.

Our feedback system will rate buyers & sellers at mutliple levels, which are considered critical by both buyers and sellers. I want to thank you for taking the time to comment on my blog. I hope you continue to visit, and comment with any questions, concerns or ideas you may have.
